We are painting boldly with Pastels! And pastels do not refer to pale tones of color at all; they are a dry medium used for both drawing and painting. There is a great variety of colors in the pastel palette range that go from subtle colors to bold and brilliant ones. In fact, one of the most talked about characteristic of this medium it is amazing vibrancy of color! Pastels can be traced back to the 16th century, and this medium today is considered one of the major fine art mediums.

In this Pastels Bootcamp we will dive deep into what pastels are, a bit of history from old masters to contemporary artists influences, the different types of pastels that exist, the variety of techniques you can use to apply them, how to set up your space, cleaning and safety tips, how to protect the artwork, what are the best materials and tools for beginners and advance pastellists, and so much more!

By the end of this class, you’ll not only create captivating Pastel Paintings that resonate with abstract colors, visual textures, and captivating mark-making, but you’ll also have honed your mastery of the pastel medium itself.
